Wapusk National Park
Wapusk National Park, established in 1996, is located on the shores of Hudson Bay in the Hudson Plains ecozone, about 45 km south of Churchill. Named after the Cree word for polar bear, the park is known for Cape Churchill, one of the best places in the world to observe and photograph wild polar bears.
Its remote location helps preserve the fragile ecosystem and limits access to helicopters and specialized tundra vehicles.by Ansgar Walk, CC BY-SA 3.0, via Wikimedia Commonsby Ansgar Walk, CC BY-SA 2.5, via Wikimedia Commonsby Magan Dayal, CC BY-SA 4.0, via Wikimedia CommonsCanada
