    Cape Breton Highlands National Park is situated in northern Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia and spans an area of 948 square kilometers. Established as the first national park in Atlantic Canada, it forms part of the national network of protected areas.
    The park is renowned for its dramatic landscapes, including rugged mountains, deep valleys, cascading waterfalls, and a tundra-like plateau known as the Cape Breton Highlands. The terrain also includes Acadian and boreal forests and is home to Nova Scotia's highest elevation point, White Hill, rising to 533.

    Since 2014, efforts have been underway in collaboration with indigenous and environmental organizations to restore its boreal forest ecosystems.
