The Frontenac Arch Biosphere Reserve is located in southeastern Ontario at the convergence of riverine and terrestrial ecosystems. It includes islands and islets within the Saint Lawrence River that serve as vital ecological corridors for migrating species.
The Frontenac Arch itself forms a critical land bridge connecting the habitats of Algonquin Park in Ontario and Adirondack Park in New York, enhancing regional biodiversity and species movement.
Frontenac Arch Biosphere Reserve is included in the UNESCO World Network of Biosphere Reserves (WNBR).
