Southwest Nova Biosphere Reserve
The Southwest Nova Biosphere Reserve is situated in the southwestern region of Nova Scotia, a peninsula in eastern Canada. Bordered by the Bay of Fundy to the north, known for having the world’s highest tides, and the North Atlantic Ocean to the east, the reserve spans across five counties — Annapolis, Digby, Queens, Shelburne, and Yarmouth.
This area has been designated as a 'zone of cooperation', supporting a population of around 100,000 residents who live in harmony with the surrounding natural environment.
Southwest Nova Biosphere Reserve is included in the UNESCO World Network of Biosphere Reserves (WNBR).
