Náátsʼihchʼoh National Park Reserve, located in the Northwest Territories of Canada, spans approximately 4,850 square kilometers within the upper South Nahanni River watershed. The park lies within the Sahtú Settlement Area and derives its name from the Dene language, meaning 'stands like a porcupine'—a reference to a sacred mountain within the region.
Established to preserve the ecological integrity of this pristine subarctic environment, the park adjoins the larger Nahanni National Park Reserve. Despite their proximity, the two parks are managed independently.
Náátsʼihchʼoh features alpine tundra, boreal forest, and rich wildlife including grizzly bears, Dall’s sheep, and caribou, and supports a traditional Indigenous way of life tied to the land.
