Mount Arrowsmith Biosphere Reserve
Located on the eastern coast of Vancouver Island in British Columbia, the Mount Arrowsmith Biosphere Reserve lies near the Clayoquot Sound Biosphere Reserve on the opposite side of the island. It is part of the Coastal Douglas-fir biogeoclimatic zone, which features forests that were heavily logged in the early 20th century.
Today, the area's second-growth forests are maturing, creating renewed pressure from the logging industry.
Mount Arrowsmith Biosphere Reserve is included in the UNESCO World Network of Biosphere Reserves (WNBR).
