    The Georgian Bay Biosphere Reserve encompasses the largest freshwater archipelago in the world, locally known as 'The Thirty Thousand Islands'. Located along the northeastern shore of Lake Huron in Ontario, this region features a striking landscape of bays, inlets, islands, shoals, and rugged Canadian Shield bedrock.
    This diverse topography gives rise to a rich variety of habitats, including mixed forests, wetlands, and rocky ecosystems, supporting a wide array of plant and animal life. The area is celebrated for its breathtaking scenery, which attracts summer residents, boating enthusiasts, and seasonal tourists.

    Georgian Bay Biosphere Reserve is included in the UNESCO World Network of Biosphere Reserves (WNBR).
