Karatepe-Aslantaş National Park

Karatepe-Aslantaş National Park is a national park located in southern Turkey on the banks of a dam reservoir (a lake formed by a dam), and it also contains an open-air archaeological museum. The national park is located on a slightly rugged terrain that stretches between the foothills of the Taurus Mountains and the plains of Çukurova where the Ceyhan River runs through.
There are many plant species typical of the Mediterranean climate in the park, such as Turkish pine and oak forests, in addition to Turpentine tree and sumac trees. There are also many species of mammals, reptiles and amphibians in the park, in addition to various species of fish.
