Using satellite imagery, archaeologists at Oxford University’s School of Archeology have identified and mapped more than 350 hunting-related architectural structures across northern Saudi Arabia and southern Iraq. Called "kites" by early pilots because they look like kites from above, these structures consist of low stone walls and a number of guiding walls that are believed to have been used to guide game such as gazelles into an area where they could be captured.
