Rock-cut tombs uncovered in Egypt

A collection of rock-cut tombs was uncovered in a necropolis located in upper Egypt is east of Sohag. The tombs were revealed during an archaeological survey to document rock-cut tombs at Al-Hamidiyah necropolis. According to Mostafa Waziri, secretary-general of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, the tombs have different architectural styles, and they date from the end of the Old Kingdom to the end of the Ptolemaic period.
