According to researchers, a Middle Eastern kid interred in a stone-lined grave some 9,000 years ago wore an ornate necklace that demonstrates the complexity of social interaction in an early farming society. The remarkable necklace was originally composed of around 2,500 stone and shell beads strewn throughout the child's upper torso, as well as a double-holed stone pendant positioned behind the neck and a mother-of-pearl ring laying on the chest.
