Alexander the Great statue discovered in Turkey

In a recent reveal by Live Science, archaeologists have discovered a marble head from an Alexander the Great sculpture in the ruins of a Roman theater in Konuralp, situated along Turkey's northwestern coast. Thought to originate from the second century AD., this find underscores the Macedonian leader's prolonged admiration in antiquity, over four centuries after his demise in 323 BC. Notably, the statue's hair, curled and parted at the forehead, evokes the imagery of a lion's mane, a signature style of Alexander's portraits.
