Traditional Intelligence and Strategy Game: Togyzqumalaq, Toguz Korgool, Mangala/Göçürme
Traditional intelligence and strategy game: Togyzqumalaq, Toguz Korgool, Mangala/Göçürme is a traditional game played on special wooden boards or on improvised boards such as digging in the ground or on rocks, while the playing pieces are made of stone, wood, grains and seeds. There are several ways to play the game, where the pieces are distributed across the pits and the player who gathers the most of them wins the game.
Practicing this game is related to a number of other traditional crafts such as stone carving, woodcarving and jewelry making. The game develops the mental, motor and social skills of the player and it transmitted through generations through formal education and other channels.
Traditional Intelligence and Strategy Game: Togyzqumalaq, Toguz Korgool, Mangala/Göçürme was inscribed in 2020 on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey.
