Jabal Aja Protected Area
Jabal Aja Protected Area is a nature reserve located in the north of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia near the city of Haʼil. The reserve consists of a mountain range of red granite rocks cut by valleys.
The reserve is characterized by the richness of plant life and the presence of many endemic plant species such as Haloxylon salicornicum, Asphodelus tenuifolius, Acacia trees and many other plants and shrubs. The reserve has a distinct biodiversity, as the mammals in the park include the gray wolf, the sand cat, and the Nubian ibex, in addition to several species of reptiles and amphibians.
The reserve is also a habitat for many migratory and endemic birds, including the sand partridge, griffon vulture, Egyptian vulture, desert owl, sparrows, and several species of cranes.Saudi Arabia
