Al-Jubail Marine Wildlife Sanctuary

Al-Jubail Marine Wildlife Sanctuary is a nature reserve located on the shores of the Arabian Gulf, north of the industrial city of Jubail in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The goal behind establishing the reserve was to monitor pollution and its effects and to preserve the biodiversity in the area.
The reserve consists of the coastal area in addition to five islands. It is characterized by great biodiversity, where red foxes, jackals, and types of rodents are found in the wild environment.
There are also several kinds of birds such as flamingos, calidris, seagulls, terns, ducks, herons, and cormorants. As for the aquatic environments near the beach, there are many types of invertebrate animals such as snails and crabs.
It is also one of the most fertile environments in which the green turtle and the hawksbill turtle live.
