Shtamë Pass National Park
Shtamë Pass National Park, also Qafë-Shtamë or Qafshtamë National Park, is a national park located on the edge of a mountain range north of the Albanian capital Tirana, named after Shtamë Pass mountainous passage. The park generally consists of mountainous areas covered with pine and oak forests, as pine is one of the main sources of wood in Albania.
The forests provide a habitat for brown bears, wolves, foxes and various birds but all these animals are now threatened by illegal deforestation.
