Nikaj-Mërtur Regional Nature Park
Nikaj-Mërtur Regional Nature Park is a regional nature park located in the Albanian Alps in northern Albania. The park is characterized by the rugged and steep terrain characteristic of the Albanian Alps, and a great diversity of flora.
The park's vegetation includes many Mediterranean and Eurasian plant species, and is generally composed of oaks, beaches and pines growing on limestone and dolomite. Among the most important animals in the park are the Eurasian lynx, the gray wolf, and the endangered brown bear, in addition to some bird species such as the western capercaillie, the griffon vulture, the peregrine falcon and the common kestrel.
