Fir of Hotovë-Dangelli National Park

Fir of Hotovë-Dangelli National Park is the largest national park in Albania located in Gjirokastër County in southern Albania. The park is characterized by its mountainous terrain, consisting mainly of limestone and sandstone deposits, with many valleys and rivers, in addition to the dense deciduous and coniferous forests characteristic of the Mediterranean range, the most important of which are fir trees.
The park is characterized by its favorable environmental conditions for the spread of many species of animals, the most important of which are wild cats, roe deer, wild boar, red squirrel, Eurasian otter, and badger. Brown bears, gray wolves and red foxes can also be seen.
The park also contains a variety of bird species, most notably the golden eagle, eagle owl, barn owl, sparrowhawk, Egyptian vulture, kestrel, lanner falcon and more.
