Protected Natural Area of Djalélo
Protected Natural Area of Djalélo, or Djalélo Nature Reserve is a nature reserve located in the Arta region in southeast Djibouti. The reserve is considered a natural habitat for the Gerenuk (Giraffe gazelle), a type of long-necked antelope with long and slender legs that is found in the dry and desert lands of the Horn of Africa and East Africa in Djibouti, Ethiopia, Somalia, and Kenya.
The Djalélo Nature Reserve is a major biotope for the Gerenuk, as well as other endangered species such as the Beira antelope, the Soemmerring's gazelle, the Dorcas gazelle, and the Salt's dik-dik antelope.
Protected Natural Area of Djalélo was submitted in 2015 to the UNESCO Tentative List in Djibouti.
