El Kala National Park

El Kala National Park, or El Kala Biosphere Reserve, is a nature reserve located in El Tarf Province in northeastern Algeria. The reserve is characterized by biodiversity, as it includes a distinguished variety of marine ecosystems, lakes and forests.
As for the vegetation, there are Quercus suber, Aleppo pines, willows and white poplars, in addition to other trees such as eucalyptus and acacia trees. El Kala National Park is the last refuge of the Barbary stag (Atlas deer), and it is home to many endemic and aquatic mammals and birds.

El Kala National Park is included in the UNESCO World Network of Biosphere Reserves (WNBR).
