Djurdjura National Park
The Djurdjura National Park, or Djurdjura Biosphere Reserve, is a nature reserve located in the Djurdjura Mountains at an altitude of 800 to 2,300 meters in northeastern Algeria. Because of its geographical location, the park is home to evergreen Mediterranean forests, which include conifers, cedars, and oaks, as well as mountain grasslands.
The park is also distinguished by its richness of animals, where we see the red fox, weasel, hyena, and lynx, as well as the boar and the Barbary macaque, in addition to a variety of birds.
Djurdjura National Park is included in the UNESCO World Network of Biosphere Reserves (WNBR).
Designation date: 1997
