Zakouma National Park is a national park located in southeastern Chad and is the oldest national park in the country. The park characterized by the spread of shrubs, tall grasses, and acacia forests, and it is one of the last wildlife reserves in the African Sahel region, and it is still home to good numbers of large mammals.
A variety of large mammals have been recorded in the park, such as buffalo, elephant, Kordofan giraffe, hartebeest, leopard, and lion, in addition to many species of small mammals such as rodents. Birds in the park include ostriches, cranes, eagles, egrets, herons, ibises, pelicans, and storks.
