The Crusaders were European knights and armies who launched campaigns in the Holy Land from 1095 AD to 1291 AD. Their efforts to reclaim Jerusalem from Islamic rule reshaped European and Middle Eastern geopolitics. The Crusades also facilitated cultural and economic exchanges between East and West.
