Transboundary Biosphere Reserve in the Senegal River Delta
Transboundary Biosphere Reserve in the Senegal River Delta is a nature reserve located in the delta of the Senegal River between southern Mauritania and northern Senegal. The reserve is characterized by diversity due to its hydrographic network, which is divided into several basins, and includes floodplains fed by water, lakes, and backwaters, in addition to the sea and coastal sand dunes.
Djoudj National Bird Sanctuary in Senegal is part of the reserve.
Transboundary Biosphere Reserve in the Senegal River Delta is included in the UNESCO World Network of Biosphere Reserves (WNBR).
