St. George’s Monastery (Wadi Qelt)
St. George’s Orthodox Monastery, also Monastery of Saints John and George of Choziba or Monastery of St. George of Choziba, is a monastery located in Wadi Qelt, in the eastern West Bank. The monastery, which is a cliff-hanging complex, dating from the 5th century AD. The monastery was destroyed by the Persians in 614 AD, and was later rebuilt during the Crusades in the 12th century, and then again at the end of the 19th century.
