Mosque of Ibn Tulun is a historical mosque located in Cairo, Egypt. It was built in 879 AD by Ahmad ibn Tulun, the Abbassid governor of Egypt and the founder of the Tulunid dynasty that ruled Egypt and Syria between 868-905 AD. The mosque was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979 as part of Historic Cairo.
