    Fort Anne is a historic British fortification located in Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia, Canada. Originally established by the Scots in 1629 AD as Charles Fort, it became a key French settlement called Port-Royal in 1636 AD before being captured and fortified by the British in 1710 AD. Fort Anne played a pivotal role in colonial conflicts between the British and French.
