Citadel Hill, officially known as Fort George, is a historic British fortification located in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Constructed between 1828 AD and 1856 AD, it was built to defend Halifax Harbour, a key naval base in the British Empire. Designed as a star-shaped bastion fort, it features massive earthen ramparts and stone walls, showcasing 19th-century military engineering. Citadel Hill served as a critical defensive structure during British rule and later as a Canadian military site.
