    Fort Amherst is a historic British fortification located at the entrance to St. John’s Harbor in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. Originally established in 1777 AD during the American Revolutionary War, it was built to protect the harbor and the city from potential enemy attacks. The fort includes remnants of stone walls, gun batteries, and later additions from World War II.
