Ben farès Mosque

Ben farès Mosque is a historical mosque located in the Kasbah of Algiers. The site's oldest history dates back to the 15th century AD, when it was established as a small mosque. The mosque was later demolished and a synagogue was built on its site during the French occupation of Algeria. The synagogue, the Great Synagogue of Algiers, was inaugurated in 1865 AD. After the independence of Algeria in 1962 AD, the synagogue was transformed into the Ben farès Mosque after the construction of the minaret, in addition to some other modifications to suit Islamic rituals.
