Dedoplistskaro Biosphere Reserve

Dedoplistskaro Biosphere Reserve is a reserve located in the Shiraki Plain in the Kakheti region of eastern Georgia. The region is characterized by its driest and hottest climate in Georgia, where steppe plants and deciduous trees predominate where Pistacia atlantica trees are widespread, in addition to many endemic plant species.
Among the animals scattered in the reserve are the Eryx jaculus snake, the Eastern imperial eagle, the black vulture, pheasants and the rare black stork. Also, there are golden jackals, red foxes, wolves, Eurasian lynxes, brown bears, and others.
Vashlovani National Park is located in the reserve.
Dedoplistskaro Biosphere Reserve is included in the UNESCO World Network of Biosphere Reserves (WNBR).
