Alazani Floodplain Forests Natural Monument, or Three Alazani Rivers Biosphere Reserve is a floodplain forest located on the banks of the Alazani River in southeastern Georgia. The protected area covers large areas of natural floodplain forests, which are characterized by their dense forests of perennial walnut trees and Fraxinus (also called ash, is a genus of flowering plants in the olive family), in addition to oak, elm and many floodplain forests bushes.
The reserve is the only natural habitat of walnut (Juglans regia) in Georgia.
Alazani Floodplain Forests Natural Monument is included in the UNESCO World Network of Biosphere Reserves (WNBR).
