    York Redoubt is a historic British military fortification located at the entrance to Halifax Harbour in Nova Scotia, Canada. Established in 1793 AD during the French Revolutionary Wars, it served as part of Halifax’s coastal defense system. The site features a mix of 18th- and 19th-century fortifications, including gun batteries, observation posts, and underground magazines. York Redoubt played an active role in World War I and World War II, protecting the harbor and its naval facilities.
