Mokha
Mokha is a historical city located on the Red Sea coast in Taiz Governorate, Yemen. Its strategic position along the maritime trade routes linking India, East Africa, and the Mediterranean made it an important commercial hub. The port rose to prominence under Ottoman rule in the 16th century and reached its peak in the 18th century, when it became the world’s principal export center for Yemeni coffee, giving rise to the famous "Mocha" name associated with coffee.
The site is included on the UNESCO Tentative List under the official name, Al Mokha City.
