Ar Rawdah, Sanaa
Ar Rawdah or Al-Rawda is an important historic settlement within the cultural landscape surrounding Sana’a, located to the north of the Old City. The city is distinguished by its high density of religious architecture, with around twenty mosques, including the Great Mosque, reflecting its long-standing spiritual and urban significance. Al-Rawda is also known for its agricultural character, particularly its gardens and vineyards—most famously the Rawda grapes—supported by natural springs such as ‘Ayn al-Mahdi and ‘Ayn Mustafa.
The site is one of the elements included in the UNESCO Tentative List for World Heritage designation, Sites of the Cultural Landscape and Heritage Landmarks in Sana’a.Elevation: 2222 m
