Fort Dunvegan is a historic fur trading post located in Alberta, Canada. It was established in 1805 AD by the North West Company, a major competitor of the Hudson’s Bay Company, under the leadership of Archibald Norman McLeod. The fort served as a center for trade with Indigenous peoples, especially the Beaver (Dunne-za) Nation. After the 1821 merger with the Hudson’s Bay Company, it continued operating until the late 19th century.
