Fort Battleford
Fort Battleford is a historic military fort located in Battleford, Saskatchewan, Canada. It was established in 1876 AD by the North-West Mounted Police to maintain law and order during a time of growing tensions between settlers, Indigenous peoples, and Métis communities. The fort played a significant role during the North-West Resistance of 1885 AD, serving as a base for Canadian troops and as a place where several Indigenous leaders were imprisoned.
