Fort Ingall is a historic military fort located in Témiscouata-sur-le-Lac, Quebec, Canada. It was originally built in 1839 AD by the British Army during the Aroostook Border Dispute between British North America and the United States. The fort was one of several temporary posts meant to assert British claims in the region. Though the conflict was resolved diplomatically, Fort Ingall remained a symbol of British presence and defense strategy in Lower Canada. Today, it has been reconstructed as a museum, offering insight into 19th-century military life and the tensions that shaped Canada’s borders.
