River Gambia National Park
River Gambia National Park is a national park located on the left bank of the Gambia River in The Gambia. The reserve is made up of river islands (Baboon Islands) covered with tropical rainforest in the form of a riparian forest.
The reserve is the center of the chimpanzee reintroduction project, and entry is not allowed on the islands, because chimpanzees can be very aggressive towards humans. River Gambia National Park is home to guinea baboons, green monkeys, western red colobus, marmosets, warthog, hippopotamuses, aardvark, and honey badgers, as well as reptiles, crocodiles, and birds.
