Abuko Nature Reserve is a nature reserve located south of the city of Abuko in western Gambia. The Abuko Sanctuary is the first wildlife sanctuary in The Gambia, distinguished by its vegetation cover of forests and savannahs.
Among the most important trees in the reserve there are oil palms, mahogany and other trees and herbs. The reserve includes a group of monkey species, such as the vervet monkeys, the red colobus and the pata's monkeys, in addition to many other animals such as the African palm civet, mongooses, galagos, as well as crocodiles, snakes and many birds.
