Bird Migration Routes
Bird Migration Routes
It is a group of stations located on the path of migratory birds passing through Egypt. It includes Lake Bardawil and Zaranik Reserve in North Sinai, Gabal Sha’ib El Banat on the Red Sea, Salouga and Ghazal Nature Reseve in the Nile River, in addition to Lake Nasser in Aswan.
These areas are centers of attraction for migratory birds because they contain habitats for large submerged plants, herbs and shrubs, as well as being major sources of water.
Bird Migration Routes was submitted in 2003 to the UNESCO Tentative List in Egypt.
