Ras Mohammed
Ras Mohammed is an Egyptian nature reserve located in the far south of Sinai at the confluence of the Gulf of Suez and Aqaba. The region is characterized by its extremely dry climate and a remarkable diversity of marine, coastal and terrestrial habitats that support biodiversity.
One of the most interesting features is the coral reef ecosystem in the Ras Mohammed area, along with other ecosystems, geological sites and fossil corals.
Ras Mohammed was submitted in 2002 to the UNESCO Tentative List in Egypt.
