Prince of Wales Tower
Prince of Wales Tower is a historic defensive structure located in Point Pleasant Park, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Built in 1796 AD, it is the oldest Martello tower in North America and was constructed to protect Halifax Harbor from naval attacks. The circular stone tower was designed by Prince Edward, Duke of Kent, and features thick walls to withstand cannon fire. The Prince of Wales Tower is a significant military and architectural landmark, reflecting the strategic importance of Halifax in colonial defense.
