Palm Islands Nature Reserve
Palm Islands Nature Reserve is a protected area consisting of three rocky limestone islands (Palm Island, Sanani Island and Ramkine Island), in addition to the surrounding marine area. It is located in the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of the city of Tripoli in northern Lebanon.
The reserve is of international importance. On the one hand, it is a Mediterranean wetland area, and on the other hand, it is considered a haven for resting and nesting migratory birds.
Also, the marine area of the reserve is a habitat for the Mediterranean monk seal and the endangered green turtle.
