Horsh Ehden Nature Reserve

Horsh Ehden Nature Reserve is a nature reserve located near the town of Afqa in northern Lebanon. The vegetation cover in the reserve consists of various forests and woods, where the Lebanon cedar forests cover the largest area, in addition to the Cilician fir trees, the Greek juniper and the Lebanese wild apple.
The reserve is home to many species of birds, such as eastern imperial eagle, Bonelli's eagle, Eurasian blue tit, corn crake, Levant sparrowhawk, saker falcon, white pelican, black stork, Egyptian vulture, European bee-eater, sand martin, white and black stork, common wood pigeon, great spotted cuckoo, barn owl, and the Syrian woodpecker. The reserve is also home to many mammals such as gray wolf, roe deer, Persian fallow deer, Syrian brown bear, among others.
