Ksar of Taouyala is an ancient fortified village located in Laghouat Province, Algeria, about 150 km northwest of the city of Laghouat. Measuring approximately 250 m in length and 94 m in width, with walls reaching about 5 m in height, the ksar was equipped with a guard post and two main entrances on its eastern and western sides. Its construction is believed to date back to the period of the Berber tribes of Beni Rached, who built the ksour of Djebel Ammour, and local tradition associates the site with the legend of a priestess named Karsifa.
The site is one of the elements included in the UNESCO Tentative List for World Heritage designation, Ksour of the Algerian Saharan Atlas.
