Dougga
Dougga

Dougga or Thugga is an ancient Roman city located in Béja Governorate in northern Tunisia. Thugga's well-preserved monuments and its rich Numidian-Berber, Punic, ancient Roman and Byzantine history make it very much exceptional. Among the ruins at the site there are a Libyco-Punic Mausoleum, the capitol, the theater, and the temples of Saturn and of Juno Caelestis. Dougga was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997.
