Begon II
Begon II, or The metallurgical site of Begon or Begone, is an ancient metallurgical site located in Logone Occidental Region in southern Chad. It was used as a source of iron between the 9th and 11th centuries AD. The Sara people (a Central Sudanic ethnic group native to southern Chad) extracted the Iron from the site and used it to make tools, weapons, and currency. During a 2003 inventory, 53 stoves were discovered as well as iron slag disposal sites.
