Ennedi Rock Art
Ennedi Rock Art is a wide collection of rock paintings spread across the Ennedi Plateau in the Ennedi-Ouest and Ennedi-Est regions of Chad. Thousands of pictures of people and animals were painted and carved in caves, canyons, and rock shelters. These rock paintings and drawings are about 8000 years old, that is, the oldest of them date back to the 5th millennium BC. The Ennedi Rock Art was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2016 as part of Ennedi Massif: Natural and Cultural Landscape.
