Tamou Reserve
Tamou Reserve, or Tamou Total Reserve, is a nature reserve located in southwestern Niger. The reserve is an animal sanctuary primarily dedicated to protecting the African elephant populations that migrate through the area.
The reserve is also a haven for some wild animals, notably the African buffalo or Cape buffalo, the Roan antelope, the lion, the spotted hyena, the leopard, and the African golden jackal (African wolf). There are also numbers of olive baboons (Anubis baboon), hippos, wild boars, and many species of birds, especially near water sources.
